The organization maintains two separate networks, including an enterprise network in their central office and a SOHO network in their regional office. The organization is centralizing control of their WLAN in their central office by replacing their standalone access points with lightweight access points (LAP) and a WLC. Also, at the regional office, a new SOHO wireless router needs to be installed. You are leading this project and are implementing the solution for demonstration to the IT team to become familiar with any potential challenges that may occur during the actual project implementation. 
 

Objectives of the Test Environment

1. The project supervisor has provided you with a Packet Tracer configuration file as the test environment. The test network to be configured to achieve two specific operational objectives:
2. Provide fast and secure Wi-Fi connectivity to a variety of devices via a new SOHO router.
3. Allow hosts to connect to different interfaces and secure WLANs on a WLC.

Network Needs Analysis

Below are the notes collected during an interview session with the project supervisor from the IT team. These requirements form the configuration settings needing to be applied on the PT configuration file accompanied this document. 

SOHO Network

1. The router IP and DHCP settings to be changed according to the information in the Addressing Table.
2. DHCP settings on the router to permit a maximum of 15 addresses to be issued by the router.
3. The DHCP server to start with IP address .5 of the LAN network.
4. The internet interface of the router to receive its IP address over DHCP.
5. The static DNS server to be configured to the address in the Addressing Table.
6. The network to use Channel 6 on the 2.4GHz Wireless LAN interface.
7. The Wireless LAN to use WPA2 Personal. Use information shown in the WLAN information table.
8. The default password of the router to be changed to SOHO123.
9. The laptop, Tablet PC and Smartphone to be connected to the wireless network
