Sydney CAR RENTAL is a SMALL CAR rental company that provides regular car rental service, with two picks up and return locations. They offer different car types including small family cars, large family cars, compact executive cars and compact SUVs, in total the company has about 20 cars available for a rent. In order to run their business effectively, they need a SOFTWARE SOLUTION that helps to serve their customers and reduce the running costs of the business. Your proposed solution should effectively address their needs and provides means to run the business. One of the most important features every car rental needs is a booking system that allows customers to book cars and keeps track of all vehicles. Since the company has two branches they need to have a good overview of which cars are available and on which location. The system easily enables to book cars and manage all rentals. Many of their customers prefer to book the car in advance and the software should find all available cars during that period. Also, the billing information related to bookings which make it easy to monitor business cash flow. Questions: 1) Identify the scope, objectives, business problem or opportunity and develop a project charter. This project charter can be used to initialise or sign off the project. Refer Appendix A for the Project charter template. 2) Develop a detailed project plan that includes work breakdown, project timeline and budget. 3) Comparison of information related to current operational practices and strategic plan to determine possible IT gaps and improvement opportunities to implement the new system. Create a risk management plan.
