Telstra, in pursuit of advancement, experienced several heritage issues. While revolutionizing the pre-existing technology, many companies tend to experience hierarchical issues. Rather than opting for 2100 MHz band, Telstra decided to use 850 MHz band for the upcoming Next G network. It was because, this network was capable enough to provide coverage within fewer base stations, therefore, providing lower capital cost. Moreover, Telstra utilized features including HSPA+ which is also referred as enhanced high speed packet access. HSPA+ along with dual channel technology eventually resulted in making the Next G network faster than CDMA.
