You are working as an IT specialist for a real estate agency called Melbourne Realty. The company would like to develop a website to display rental properties and properties for sale to their customers. You are required to create an entity relationship diagram for the website development team using the business and data requirements below.
1. The website should support property search, where a visitor can search the current properties available.
2. The details of a property for sale are: street number, street name, suburb, postcode, city, state, sale price, type of property, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, number of garages, staff selling the property, staff mobile number, property inspection dates
3. The details of a property for rent are: street number, street name, postcode, city, state, rental price per week, type of property, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, number of garages and the date from which the property is available for rent, property inspection dates.
4. The new website can provide email notification to customers when certain properties are available. The website matches customer's preferences with properties available. If there is a match, then an email alert is sent to the customer.
5. A customer must sign up as a member of Melbourne Realty. The customer details required are: first name, last name, mobile number and email address.
6. The details of customer housing preferences are also recorded. These details are: Type of property (house, unit or apartment), rent or buy, maximum price, and postal codes that interest the customer.
7. The email alert contains the customer details: first name, last name, mobile number, email address, and the property details and the price of property (rental price or sale price).
Part A - Develop conceptual model and logical data model
1. Read the scenario and business data requirements provided by the assessor.
2. Arrange a time to discuss the with your assessor (the client)
