Use your accessibility checklist to assess the accessibility of your website.  For each of the checkpoints that your website does not satisfy, write a short description of how you could improve the site to adhere to the standards.   • Check and ensure that pages are not dependent on colour and can operate in a monochrome environment
  • Ensure content is clear and concise
  • Check and ensure that document can be read without style sheets
  • Check and ensure that priorities identified in the analysis of web development standards are met and completed
  • Check and ensure that pages are logical and accessible in a text-only environment
  • Verify that pages operate on text-to-speech browser

  2. Search the internet for a blog, Facebook page or user forum for a user groups with particular accessibility requirements e.g. vision impaired
  • List the name and URL of the blog, Facebook page or user forum respectively.
  • Communicate with the user group of the blog or user forum. Provide a screen shot of your post or email.
Test the website with a member of one of the user groups to ensure that the site transforms successfully and maintains accessibility.
  • Contact a user with particular accessibility requirements. Your teacher may be able to provide contact with a user with particular accessibility requirements eg colour-blindness. Or you may be able to ask someone you know or through a Facebook group or forum.
  • Test the site with the user, create a series of 5 or 6 questions to ask the user about the accessibility of your site and its content. E.g. Are the colours suitable? Can they find their way around the site easily? Does the site work with their assistive technology?
  • Ensure that the accessibility of the website is signed off by this person as meeting web-development standards. Provide evidence of communication, test result and sign-off in writing in the form of an email, document or screen shot.
