Design Assignment:

The qualitative aspect has to do with ensuring that space has a pleasing feel and ambience. It is the artistic interspersing of light and shadow, of illumination and darkness, of figure and form. The quantitative aspect revolves around making sure that there is adequate light for the task at hand. Questions: 1) Research and identify different types of lighting sources, devices, systems and fixtures 2) Describe the advantages and disadvantages of lighting sources 3) Describe principles needed to measure and calculate the quality and amount of light required for residential and commercial spaces Plan effective lighting layouts for residential and office projects 4) Develop the lighting design for the residential project given 5) Draw a floor plan and a reflected ceiling plan
