Identify and select an entrepreneur with a proven track record. This entrepreneur could be operating a for-profit, non-profit, or social venture anywhere in the world. You have the option of 1) interviewing an entrepreneur/business owner OR 2) researching an entrepreneur from published, reputable sources. 
Gather as much information as you require on your selected entrepreneur. Analyse the information you have gathered in the form of an essay. 
 In your analysis, draw on concepts and theories (hint: think about Assessment 1) to consider the characteristics of your selected entrepreneur and the emergence of his/her business idea. Critique the ways in which your selected entrepreneur has identified problems and gaps and provided innovative/creative solutions in the formation of his/her business venture. Critically discuss key aspects of his/her business venture, such as uniqueness of the business, stakeholders, sustainability and creativity, long-term survival and profitability. Consider the source and motivation of his/her business venture and the types of entrepreneurship this person practices. 
1) Guidelines for Choosing an Entrepreneur to research from Primary Sources (Interview) 

If you take the option of interviewing a business owner, you must provide a complete transcript (typed) of the interview to be included with your submission. This can be conducted over the phone, using Zoom, or through any other digital means. 
You may interview a friend or family member if they are an appropriate choice. Please ensure you follow all regulations and laws regarding social distancing. 

These have been evolving, and it is your responsibility to ensure you are conducting yourself in a safe and legal manner. Failure to comply with these will result in a 0 grade for the individual part of this assessment. No exceptions. 
You may not ‘share’ an interview, or interview someone at the same time as someone else. This is an individual assignment and must be conducted alone. If your selected entrepreneur does not have time to conduct two interviews you need to find someone else. 
2) Guidelines for Choosing an Entrepreneur to research from Secondary Sources 

If you choose published sources:  
Published sources include annual reports, media articles, blogs, general reports, websites etc.  
If your chosen option is to select an entrepreneur from published sources, do not select high-profile and/or start-ups that are more than 10 years old. For example, you may NOT study Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Jeff Bezos Amazon), Pierre Omidyar (eBay), Janine Allis (Boost Juice), etc. 

You must submit your selected entrepreneur (to be researched or interviewed) via the emailed survey link by 11:59pm Monday, 28th September 2020 AEST. Your tutor will provide you with information on how she will be collecting this information. Failure to have your entrepreneur approved by the deadline will result in a 5% deduction from your mark.

Your analysis should be supported by at least four peer-reviewed academic journal articles. This can include articles from the weekly readings.
