As part of this assessment task you will be expected to generate a professional portfolio in a platform1 of your choosing, using evidence that is curated from your professional career in the field of IT. Your skills audit and reflective report should aid the completion of this assessment task.

For this assessment task, please provide an accessible exhibit of your professional history, skills and accomplishments in a professional and engaging manner, and provide evidence to justify your practice and performance. Instructions 
•Read the entire assignment sheet and the rubric. 
•Submit a single PDF document containing the following: 
o A link to your portfolio with your name and student ID 
o A 2-page summary document of how your profile addresses the requirements; 
o A 1-page summary where you briefly address the criteria of the Professional Practice communication credential online via the Cloud link. 
    
• As part of this task you will create a positive online professional presence through a portfolio web application of your choosing. This portfolio will allow you to exhibit and participate, ethically and effectively, on a digital media platform.

Assessment Part 1: Professional Portfolio Structure 
In curating the professional portfolio, below we have outlined several tasks you are to complete – broken down into technological presentation, professional practice and performance criteria related to education and your professional career experience. 
ORGANISATION AND PRESENTATION 
In order to start your portfolio, it needs to be set up to allow information and media to be incorporated into it. Once properly configured and initialised the next key factor is how to present your information well and coherently. These two first tasks focus on the two main aspects that you need to achieve these in order to meet minimum standards for the portfolio. 
Task A: Organisation
• Your choice of professional portfolio system was relevant and achieved the assessments desired requirements. 
• Use a relevant photo to represent your portfolio (yourself or something which represents you). 
• Outline your location (the city you are in or at very least country). 
• Create a unique headline which represents your professional self – what is your career expertise for example. 
• Write a professional summary – a concise paragraph which would be similar to what you would write on a cover letter. 
• Design an outline/purpose/direction that you want to take with this portfolio. o Are you targeting the right industry? 
o Will it appeal to employees or fellow professionals in this field?   

Task B: Presentation 
 • This task is all about, did you write and display content which is well planned, written coherently and flows in a positive way. Aspects of this will include; o Varied, precise and engaging language appropriate to a persuasive purpose. 
o Using verbs that are varied and well-chosen to show tasks, duties, skills and accomplishments. 
o Avoiding negative or unprofessional content or comments. 
o Evidence provided (whether written or digital media) were professional and exhibited a positive side of your work and experience. 
o Use of correct grammar and spelling. 
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE AND PERFORMANCE 
In this section is where the real work starts and is related to your self-reflection work and the detailing of your passion for your selected field – why you get up every morning and spend your time pursuing this field! You want to explain aspects such as: why did you aspire to this field; what are your ambitions; goals and philosophies; as well as evidence of assessments and projects you have worked on to solidify these factors. The following two tasks focus on these two main aspects that you need to expand upon, being your educational journey and career experience and how it shaped you into the professional you are today.
Assessment Part 2: Summary Document (max 2 pages) 
Having constructed your professional portfolio focus now on constructing a brief document (maximum of 2 pages) that summarises and highlights how your professional profile addresses the key requirements, in particular, how your profile addresses the Professional Learning and Professional Experience criteria (Task C and D) below. 
In addressing this, it may be helpful to state a future role/job that you are aspiring to and how the information provided in the profile helps you work towards that objective. 
Task C: Professional Learning 
Your time as a student (or in workplace) learning plays a major role in your professional career progression. We are now seeing many universities that are saying, the first day of your study in a particular field should be the first day you become a professional in that field. In this section it is important to highlight a demonstration of your education, with regards to what is your philosophy of learning and education, how it relates to achieving your career/professional objectives, as well as how committed were you to achieving higher level knowledge to evolve yourself. 
In addressing this task, consider the following prompt questions: 
• Why did you aspire to study the educational pathway you chose, highlight the factors which lead you down this path and if you are passionate about the field, discuss this succinctly. o What paths did you decide while educating, what majors did you choose and why, how has this changed your professional outlook?   
• How did you personalise, connect and apply the education you learned with real life instances or professional examples. 
• Universities and colleges often outline a set of specific skills and attributes they expect a graduate to obtain. Where you investigated and worked on a number of projects… did you demonstrate a number of key skills or components related to a range of topics you learned? o In relation to these projects or assessments, what did you achieve, did you follow through on your plans and how did you determine success?     
• What is your learning style preference? Your learning style will change the way you understand information and how you actually solve problems. o Discuss your style and how it may translate well to your ideal career choice.    

Task D: Professional Experience 
In this task your focus is to pinpoint and display the key factors related to your professional experience, and then delve deeper to examine what actually makes you unique, what inspires you, what success you have had and what is your plan for the future. You will be detailing your professional experience; this can be difficult to explain. It is important because prospective employers will be looking at what is your commitment to personal and professional development? 
Focus on the following factors in order to complete this section well. 
• Employers when listing job vacancies will list a set of skills or attributesthey want candidates to have, so that is one part we want to highlight in this task but I want you expand that to a higher level. o Where does your expertise lie? How that could actually be applied in different ways for different positions. Skill transference essentially. 
o Outline the range of skills that you have developed and are developing across the activities you perform but also what is the value in these skills. 
• What do you want for your future career, and how are you planning for that? 
• You are likely to have had some success or achievements with work projects, talk about the impact those achievements had on yourself, employees and the company. 

• What are your ambitions, goals and values as well as who or what inspires you each day to work or desire to work in the field of IT. 
• Expand on how did you respond to opportunity and adversity in your career? Provide some examples. 

Assessment Part 3: Communication Credential Portfolio Bundle (max 1 page) 
The final stage of this assessment looks at transforming all this information into the beginnings of your submission for the Professional Practice communication credential! In this part, include responses (maximum 1 page) which briefly addresses the 5 criteria of the credential related to Masters-aligned Communication, found here and listed below. Responses to each criteria may be linked to your workplace history and its evidence discussed in parts A, B, C and D of this assessment. This will be beneficial when it comes to the next stage of your course where it will be applying for your first credential (likely to be communication).

• Submit a link to your portfolio with your name and ID, along with a single PDF document which contains a 2-page summary document of how your profile addresses the requirements, and a 1-page summary where you briefly address the criteria of the Professional Practice communication credential online via the Cloud link. 

Assessment feedback
