A Stylised Landscape

Brief: This assignment requires you to create a navigable, virtual landscape with consistent, ecologically based aesthetics. The crafting of repeatable models & textures (see notes, below) will be key considerations in your design, as will your careful integration of environmental sounds, atmospheric lighting, and particle effects (where appropriate).

The relationship between your landscape features and the path/paths that you provide the player to journey through them might also reveal hints of a narrative backstory. As in assignment 1, you will be using Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter, and Unity to craft an environment that includes textured models (namely vegetation, rocks and terrain), virtual lighting and atmospheric sound. Your scene concept and 3D meshes must be original. Your textures need not be complex, but you will need to paint/generate them in Substance Painter. Designing with reference to a stylised aesthetic should be a key consideration.

Your sounds can be sourced from the Freesound Project as long as you reference the creator and sound file in your documentation. Again, your exported Unity scene should include a camera configured for first person navigation. One well-composed screenshot of your creation should be included in your submission.
