Executive Summary
The report is an attempt to outline the business process of a retail drug store. It is concerned with the process of selling medicine to customers and the procurement process of ordering medicine/drugs for the pharmacy. The pharmacy’s business process mainly starts when the customer brings the prescription to the retail drug store with an intention to buy the medicine/ drugs and the prescription is received is received by the pharmacist. A pharmacist double-checks the volume of medicine prescribed by the doctor and examines the patient's medical history for any possible drug interactions. The business process involves a number of actors of which we have considered four main actors; pharmacist, customer, doctor and medical suppliers.

Business Process Summary
The main business process that we have selected for this assessment is directly related to the Healthcare sector which is concerned with the business process in a retail pharmacy store. We have considered  two main sub processes:
1. The process for selling medicine to customers (based on customer requests and the  legal prescription);
2. The procurement process for ordering medicine or legal drugs for pharmacy (selling purpose). 

The pharmacy’s business process mainly starts when the customer brings the prescription and  is received by the pharmacist. Following which different processes are operational side by side. Activities involved included and are not limited to:
-Communication process between staff, customer, and outside persons such as doctor 
-Inventory management
-Prescription processing

The process for selling medicine to customers (based on customer requests and the legal prescription)
1. The Pharmacist receives the prescription from the customer.
2. Pharmacist checks prescription, screen for 

• Validity (Fulfilment of legal requirement for medication to be dispensed)
• Patient details (Age, indication of medication, current medication conditions)
• Appropriateness of prescribed medications (Type, dose, strength, frequency, duration)
• Potential drug interactions (does it interact with other concurrent medications)

3. If the pharmacist is not satisfied with the information provided (if there is uncertainty or error detected), he/she immediately contacts the prescriber (the doctor who issued the prescription) for more clarifications. 
4. If the uncertainties are not clear, the pharmacist will ask the customer to get a new prescription (until the pharmacist receives a clear and valid prescription this process
will not proceed).
5. If those uncertainties are clear the pharmacist will check the pharmacy stock for prescribed medicine to confirm the availability of the medicine. If the medicines is
available following process will start:

- Record keeping
- Label printing
-Payment process
