2. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

2.1 AIM OF THE PROJECT:

The aim of my project is to provide a easy, accessible portal to the school students. Now-a-days there isn’t a lot of good portals for the students, usually the portals are used for publishing the school events, admission processes, list of programs offered etc. Unlike the university portals, school portals lack behind in supporting the students and the faculties. So I am going to create a good portal for school students and the school management hoping to create a good relationship between them.

2.2 OBJECTIVES:

• To create a hassle-free online school environment for the students and the school faculties.

• To reduce the use of paper documents.

• Improving the communication between the teachers and the students.

• Cutting the wait time and queues.

• Improving the relationship between the school management and the students.

• Monitoring the student and their curriculum well.

2.3 RESEARCH QUESTIONS:

• How is the time consumption playing a part in the manual school system?

Time plays an important job in the manual school system because manually filling up forms and storing them are hectic in today life. Soft copy could be easier to store and can be taken as hard copies anywhere and anytime. Saves time and energy as well.
 

• Will interaction with the students after school times impact the students’ lives?

Yes, I strongly believe because now-a-days the students are looking for guidance at home which are the after school hours, for these situation the parents indeed send them to tutors for guidance so I think this portal might help them to do their assignments because they can get remarks even they are on holidays,

• Do you think Online School portals can help the faculties also other then publishing or promoting content of their school?

Yes, obviously because I do think they can monitor the students better and train them for the best in terms of discipline, education etc. Online school system can be more useful because they can even track and monitor easily without being manually going behind the student and collecting the assignments, marking and updating their marks.

3.3 Identified Problems :

The school lacks a reporting channel that determines and compares performance between classes, teachers, and students. The school’s administrators have received complaints from parents that students do not deliver their school reports. The current system is tedious when tracking students’ performance in their continuous assessments. In addition, teachers find it time-consuming tracking students’ assignments (Cheng, 2014). Finally, the finance department has been experiencing difficulties while using the current system to check the progress of fee payment and fines and fines levied for late payment. 

The problems identified negatively impact the learning experience of students and the operation of schools. The time spent using the current system affects the provision of quality education to learners because less time is left for imparting knowledge. Therefore, the system needs improvement to fully support learning outcomes at the school (Cheng, 2014). Moreover, the system is inadequate in tracking class attendance of students which causes learners to miss some of their classes.
