Consider the intersection between Australian Indigenous history and the social determinants of health and discuss their impact on the current state of health in Australia’s Indigenous communities today. The purpose of this assessment is to assist you as a nursing/midwifery clinician to understand and appreciate how the circumstances in which people exist impact their health. This assessment will also help highlight the intergenerational impact of historical events such as colonisation, with ongoing negative effects for Australian Indigenous Peoples.

This assessment will utilise an essay format to critically reflect on the Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander People’s health in Australia. You must focus on a specific health issue in relation to:
