Task: The aim of this assessment task is to write a business report that investigates and analyses the issues relating to the sharing economy from a business perspective by reading and analyzing relevant scholarly articles, using contemporary examples and providing a personal reflection. 1. Read the article: Cusumano, M.A., 2017. The sharing economy meets reality. Communications of the ACM, 61(1), pp.26-28. Search for additional articles that will inform the following questions: a. Explain the sharing economy including the current status and examples (This is not about definitions - I have already provided a definition above – this is about explaining the sharing economy based on scholarly articles). b. What are the benefits and limitations of the sharing economy? 2. Find a crowdsourcing website. Search for sharing economy funding requests. Evaluate the funding request (as a case study) you selected: a. What crowdsourcing website did you use and why? b. What is the request and how does it align with the sharing economy? c. Is the request likely to succeed? Why or why not? d. Will the project contribute to the sharing economy in a meaningful way? Explain your reasoning 3.
