The Problem Scenario You are employed by the software company “Emerging Technologies Software” which has a new client. The client would like to develop a new application to initially support physiotherapists across Australia and later expand to use it worldwide. They have performed initial market research and determined that the physiotherapy market has the need for a good practice management system that will support physios and clients. As a lead designer, you have been tasked with preparing a PACT analysis to identify the key elements of the system. This will include management of client records, treatment plans, and scheduling. In the preliminary market validation research provided to you, it has already been identified that physiotherapist is very busy people with back to back client consultations. Your primary goal is to design a PC user interface that will allow physios to configure a personalised treatment plan that can be entered efficiently so as not to disrupt their current workflow. Typically, a physio has a 30-minute consultation with each patient and will consult with 14 patients every day. The initial market research has also identified there is an opportunity to include support for real-time treatment using Virtual Reality exercise plan. This will be integrated with the practice management system allowing physios to deliver exercise training to clients through Virtual Reality. You are not responsible for designing any User Interface for the VR headset. All configurations for the VR system will be done through your PC interface design. As a starting point your system might include features to support both the physio and client: - Patient Records - Treatment planning - Treatment delivery through VR - Education / Training modules for clients - Data logging of the exercise date The focus should be on the user interface aspects and apply the design principles and concepts discussed in lecture and the book. As part of this assignment, you should spend some initial time considering what physios do in their day to day operations to improve your understanding. You should also make an extensive list of people who might visit them. This initial web searching and reading will prepare you for the PACT analysis that you will prepare.
