How to download dividend payment data using Morningstar DatAnalysis Premium

Step 1: Please open the Deakin University library website

Step 2: Click ‘A-Z database’

Step 3: then click ‘D’ and find “DatAnalysis Premium” (scroll down) – please click on that weblink and login with your Deakin username and password to access this resource.

Step 4: After you have clicked on the weblink the following information should be displayed:

Step 5: Please use the search field on the top right and type in the name of your chosen company. For example, if you typed in ‘CBA’ and clicked the search button you’d get the following:

Step 6: To get to the dividend history of your chosen company, please click on ‘Dividend History’ on the left-hand panel. Click on the tab ‘Download Spreadsheet’ to get the data into MS Excel.

NOTE: Some companies may not have a dividend history of fifteen years (even though they may be operating for 15 years or more). Also, some companies may not have paid dividends every year for the entire fifteen-year period from 1st July 2006 – 30th June 2021. It is best to exclude such companies from your analysis and consider companies that have a full dividend history.

Step 7: To access the price history of your chosen company, please click on ‘Price History’ on the lefthand panel and look up the closing price of each of your three chosen stocks as on
