You are required to complete an essay (2,200 words) reviewing lessons from a case study on intelligence management.
In 2017, the United States Department of Defense (DoD) Inspector General (IG) released an unclassified report into allegations that Central command (CENTCOM) intelligence had been “altered or suppressed to present a more optimistic portrayal of the success of USCENTCOM’s efforts to degrade and destroy the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)”. The IG concluded that the intelligence had not been politised, however, did identify a number of significant problems in the management of intelligence processes and intelligence analysts.
