I have long waited for this day to acquire training in management consulting. My journey in consulting work started 9 years ago in 2012, when I first established a lean International Consulting firm. My goal will not be delayed by habits that feed into the practice of procrastination. Consequently, I have drastically adjusted my initial aggressive approach and confidently adopted the recommended pace in the academic calendar.

Proposed Plan A

Upon acceptance to the Master's program, I have evaluated the factors that impact my routine life and by extension my additional academic programs. In his book Deep Work, (2016), Professor Cal Newport, defines deep work as “focused, uninterrupted, undistracted work on a task that pushes your cognitive abilities to their limit”, which I have adopted as my guiding post to complete the program within 20 months, concluding my Capstone in August 2023. This plan will entail spreading all 4 modules per academic schedule just in time.

Contingency plan B.

I commend the excellent and practical scheduling of the program by the University because all my attempts to devise a short-cut by taking the pace of full-time students resulted in a demanding schedule. Therefore, I have happily adopted the exact schedule with the only option being the residence taking place in September, subject to clearing MBK7004 as outlined in the table below. However, this takes into account the fact that I still have the full second and third years as recourse should unforeseeable disruptions arise. This planning is my ultimate contingency plan. In the meantime, the plan B option equally allows for a paced program with each module per academic schedule with residence in York starting 5 September 2022, concurrent with module MBK7010. This will be followed by the Capstone of January-August 202
