Invasive species

One of the main causes of biodiversity loss and ecological disturbance globally is the introduction of non-native species to a new location. A variety of biological characteristics, generally referred to as life-history factors, can have an impact on the establishment and spread of these imported species, often known as invasive species (Crystal-Ornelas & Lockwood, 2020). These characteristics include elements like growth rate, fertilty, capacity to disperse, and resistance to biotic and abiotic stressors. Understanding the invasion process and creating efficient management plans for invasive species may both benefit from the study of these properties. In order to forecast and control invasive species, this article will look at how the life-history characteristics of imported species might affect their success in a new habitat (Veech, 2021).
