2. Revisit the required and recommended readings in the course and choose ONE primary text that you'd like to discuss in your essay.

3. Choose the second work of children's literature from your local public library, from your personal collection, or from the following reliable online resources suggested.

4. Please note that the two works you discuss in your essay must be from different cultures, countries, or regions of the world (to encourage cross-cultural awareness).

5. Create a thesis statement that clearly explains your topic and your point of view AND lists your main points in the order you plan to discuss them.

6. Working from your essay outline and your professor's feedback, write a comparative essay that is analytical and of that clearly indicates your point of view on your chosen topic. Remember that you are writing a compare-contrast essay.
