c) All work completed including any software constructedmay not be used for any purpose other than the purpose of intended study without prior written permission from St Patrick’s College.

Purpose of this assignment

Scenario: 

Green-Idea Consultant Ltd. is a London based Digital Communications Company that specializes in Designing, Hosting and Managing corporate websites. Apart from the regular Admin (50 computers), Accounts (20 computers), Finance (20 computers) and Marketing Departments(70 computers), they also have groups of Front (70 computers)and Back End Developers(70 computers). Every Department will have their own shared drive of 50 Gb where all the materials for that department is securely stored.

The Chief Executive, Margaret Manning is highly organized and very demanding in terms of quality of work and data security in the organization. For instance, she does not want anyone else other than the Accounts or Finance department to have access to the shared drive dedicated for the respective departments.

The existing network is old, not very secure and having various issues. They want to rebuild their entire network. Assume that you have been appointed in the role of a system administrator to re-build, manage and operate the new, secure, domain-based network system for Green-Idea Consultant Ltd.

Task 1 – Perform administrative tasks to manage networkusers and resources

1. Bring out a document which will include a pre-installation, implementation and post-installation scenarios to have a domain based system to address the above mentioned requirements. The company Head Office is in London and they have 300 employees working in this site. The computers used by the employees in different departments come with various hardware and software specification. For instance, the computers used by the Admin Department are of low hardware profiles whereas the computers for the Designers and Back End Developers are high-end machines with higher processing, memory and graphics capacity.
