The negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on sport, sports organisations and the sports industry in general can be said to be the worst in the history of modern sports. Very few sports organisations would have prepared for such a disruption, but many argue that good strategic plans should have considered for such a disturbance.
In light of Covid19 pandemic, you have been tasked to produce a concise report to leaders of sport organisations to justify the need for strategic planning. The brief report should be based on all material covered in topics 1 - 4.
This task specifically requires you to produce a brief report that outlines what strategy is and why it is important. The report should target sport leaders at executive board level who are considering to develop the first ever strategic plan.
Specific Task Requirements
Demonstrate appreciation of wide ways of defining and conceptualising strategy
Use relevant information from your course together with additional data from independent research to critically appraise the continued relevance of strategy and strategic plans given possible changes to the external environment and other factors, which might impact on this sport.
Draw on empirical studies to support your analysis and recommendations relating to sport strategy;
Provide context and culturally specific examples to highlight your arguments;
Your text should be 500 words in total (+/- 10%, excluding the list of references)
Include references to relevant literature (Harvard referencing style);
You must include a ‘cover sheet’ on the first page, indicating your student ID, the date of submission and the total word count;
Do not include your name in the document nor in the name of the file you submit
