Instructions
• Each student should submit his work individually.
• Submit your work through the course Moodle page.
• The report should be submitted in Word file format, no compressed (RAR on ant another format) file submission is allowed. 
• In the word file, for each question that requires Octave programme, add a screenshot of the code, the output obtained from running the programme, then your comments and/ or explanation.
• Octave code files need to submit named by the question number (e.g. Q1, Q2,  ..etc.).

Marking:
The project is competency-based, the mark awarded will be either PASS or FAIL, according to the marking scheme.

The Questions:
Q1) Record your voice saying the following sentence:
“Bahrain Polytechnic has been established by the Bahrain Government to address the need for a skilled Bahraini labour force.”  

Read your sound file into Octave. What is the sampling rate? Plot the signal to view it in the time domain.

Q2) Write the Octave data back to a sound file, with half the sampling rate found in (Q1). Listen to the new voice file and write your comments.
                                                                                                                   
Q3) Show how simple substitution system of Figure 1 can be compromised by exploiting the frequency of occurrence of letters.

Q4) Do research about the Digital signature, then answer the following questions: (LO 5)
1- Explain its meaning and why it is needed for the Public Key (Asymmetric) cryptosystem while it is not needed for Secrete Key (Symmetric) cryptosystem?                
2- Give a name of one of the eSignature Application (provider).
