The Coronavirus outbreak continues to impact various sectors and the nation’s economies across the globe. Global logistics and supply chains continue to experience the impact of Covid-19 disruptions and interruptions to normal business operations. The Omani government response to coronavirus has been a success due to the few cases reported. Oman’s successful handling of the Covid-19 could be attributed to the huge investments Omani government made to its logistics industry such as the improvement of its seaports, road and rail networks, and airports handling capacities.

Research Background

Emergency Supply chains and logistic operations play a pivotal role in the management and containment of an epidemic or pandemic outbreak (Dasaklis, et al., 2012). However, to commercial supply chains, an epidemic or pandemic outbreak is a special kind of Low-frequency-high-impact (LFHI) supply chains (SCs) risk (Ivanov, 2020), distinctively characterised by long-term disruption existence at an unpredictable scale, simultaneous

This research aims to analyse the impacts of Covid-19 to Oman’s Logistic operations at its main airports during the pandemic crisis. To achieve this, the research is guided by the following questions:

i. What is the level of impact on airports in comparison to seaports and road transport operations during the pandemic?
ii. What are the estimated variations in airfreight and cargo traffic?
iii. What is the estimated economic impact on Oman’s airport logistics?
