Joe is a 58-year-old Samoan father of 7 children (ages ranging from 32-14). He and his wife Ana (also 58), both migrated from Samoa to Australia at a young age. Their three eldest children have already moved out of home, leaving Talia (22), Maya (18), Sione (15) and Vikki (14) left to help the family. Both Joe and Ana are on Pension benefits, Talia is both studying and working fulltime, Maya has just completed year 12 and the two youngest are still in high school. Talia looks after the family financially, ensuring all bills are paid and shopping is attended to. Maya has decided not to go to Uni, she wants to stay home and help her mum Ana, look after her dad, Joe. Joe has a severe case of Parkinson's Disease- his motor skills have severely deteriorated- he relies heavily on Ana and his children to help him with his daily living activities- he doesn't like that he has to rely on his family for 'simple' tasks. He has not seen a specialist doctor since his diagnosis 6 years ago. His family reports that Joe is seeing things, does not sleep and has extreme paranoia. Both Joe and Ana do not fully understand his condition, but listens to the doctors because they are the professionals. They live in a lower socioeconomic area and are not aware of specialised services. His ability to perform daily living skills is deteriorating. Their daughter Talia is missing days at school to help out her mum and sister. Their 15-year son, Slone has been having trouble at school and has been expelled for bringing alcohol to school.

She has an extensive history of homelessness, substance abuse and intergenerational trauma. Margaret was a part of the Stolen Generation. Margaret has two children, a 27-year-old son Daniel (incarcerated) and 21-year-old daughter Killara, who have both recently reconnected with her after being removed from her care when they were younger. 
Margaret has been formally diagnosed with Schizophrenia. She reports that she is not taking her medication as prescribed, stating that she feels funny. Margaret reports that she doesn't like taking her medication in front of people especially around her family /extended (sister and cousins). Her family do not acknowledge schizophrenia as a disease and frown upon her using medications that affect her spirit. Her sister has expressly stated that ' Aboriginal people aren't supposed to take that kind of medication, it's not natural '. 
Margaret states that she has been seeing shadows wherever she goes. She states that people are following her and there are people spying on her at night. As a result, Margret is sleeping back on the streets. She reports to using ICE (methamphetamines) to cope with her paranoia. 
Her daughter, Killara daughter states that she is also using ICE but states that she is only smoking it and states that this is not as bad as injecting. She does this to cope with her 
mother's drug use.
