Assessment Value

This assessment task is worth 40% of your result in the unit.

It is divided into TWO parts. Both parts must be answered.

Part A is a problem-solving task worth 30%.

Part B is a reflective essay worth 10%.

Style

The paper should be typed with 12 pt character – Times New Roman— and 1.5 line spacing fully justified paragraphs and default word margins on A4 pages. Pages should be numbered.

Word Limit

Your word limit is 1,800 words for the entire task - excluding footnotes, headings and title page text. Footnotes are only excluded as long as you are only using it for referencing/citations only. The 10% +/- rule applies.

Format

The first page is a title page which includes:

• your name;
• student ID;
• word count for each part. If you fail to provide a word count, the word count as per Turnitin will be used

Your assessment must be ONE document only, uploaded in .doc or .docx format. No other formats will be accepted.

Sources and References (Treaties, UN Documents etc)

You must use the materials covered and discussed in the course. If additional factual information is needed to resolve an issue, indicate what else you would need to know. There is no requirement to do additional research. You must use the AGLC 4^th ed. referencing system for cases, treaties and statutes. There is a special section for international law in the AGLC.

Bibliography

You do not need to include a bibliography.
