DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS
Operations are the business activities by which resources and inputs into required goods and services in order to create and deliver value to the customers. Operation is the heart of a business. The success or failure of a company is largely determined by the performance of the operations. When we consider a service company like Regis, there are two divisions to the operations segment. The first one is the operation linked with the client-facing, or front end side of the business which includes dealing directly with the customers, and the second one is the operation concerned with the business end, or back end of the company which include all of the internal support activities that do not need face-to-face interaction with the customers. There must be harmony and proper cooperation between the front-end and back-end operations.
For an aged care service providing company like Regis, the client-facing operations comprise of marketing, customer support services, reception, day therapy, day respite program, health services, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, podiatry, therapeutic services, accommodation and nursing services, meals, cleaning services and general laundry and bedding. On the other hand, the business end operations consist of financing, accounting, distribution and delivery, human resource management and inventory management.
