Is it necessary for teachers to learn about the school curriculum? Why?

Yes, indeed. Teachers and learners are part of the curriculum. The teacher needs to learn the school curriculum and adapt it to the teaching and learning process. So, whatever the content of the curriculum the teacher should adapt it for his/her learners. For example, in the K to 12 basic curricula, the teacher should adapt to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for Middle-level skill development, employment, and entrepreneurship in tertiary education. A school curriculum is necessary to know the skills that must be taught to the learners and to address the needs of learners as well.
