ABSTRACT
Learning management systems and corresponding technologies have transformed expeditiously from being a secondary source to primary source of learning method in the wake of one of the most serious pandemic situations the world has faced in a while. Digitization of educational methods and information storage has been accepted very well by administrators and instructors from all around the world in various educational institutions. As technology has progressed through numerous decades of development.
INTRODUCTION
Learning platforms including classroom and e-learning is highly dependent on student’s information starting from their name, address, email ID to all the courses a student takes. E-learning has found profound acceptance as the primary method of teaching/learning through a tremendous transformation over the years especially in the year 2020 with the hit of covid-19 that rendered locked and quarantined at home. The pandemic situation was a huge boost that promoted e-learning towards becoming the primary and only source of continuous knowledge for students to gain information. The core definition of education for decades has been given as the form of passing down information from one generation to another (Alena Y et al., 2016) via the concept of classroom environment untill it was tremendously revolutionized by the first computer-based e-learning platform PLATO- Programmed Logic for Automatic Teaching Operations developed at the University of Illinois. The work of each of the researchers who has developed the above-mentioned platforms with the aim of making knowledge and information accessible not only for those around them but also for those all around the globe. They achieved it by highly reducing the gap in knowledge procurement due inaccessible university location. The development of e-learning platforms through the span of over 70 years has not only grabbed the attention and interest of good educators, researchers but at the same time of the attackers ready to test their hacking abilities on any available vulnerabilities. E-education has been flourishing continuously but not without the obvious threats that harm every single component that goes live on the internet. Although numerous studies have been conducted for e-learning systems and technologies, quite few has been directed towards the context of security and security issues for e-learning do not really have many know references documented (Savulescu C. et al., 2015). Security concerns raised in maximum scenarios for e-educational platforms usually can be counter-attacked with the best anti-threat technologies available. The most essential security criteria that are violated by hackers have been identified are identity, confidentiality, integrity, availability, non-repudiation (Aldheleai H.F. et al., 2015). And with advancement in various technologies the violators have been keeping up too. The upgrade into higher level of digitization has also led to collect and store sensitive student information digitally, increasing their chances of vulnerability to cyber-attacks.
Personally identifiable information
The digital learning systems need student’s personally identifiable information to function correctly and at the same time provide best of the possible assistance through advanced technologies. The personally identifiable information is categorized into multiple possibilities. And it can be defined as any piece of information that can directly identify as person of interest. It has been very commonly detected (Erika M et al., 2010) through the following information related to one’s identity including in this case a student, Any of the above information is extremely vulnerable individually or in combination that can be used to exploit a student’s privacy or even impersonation.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
The secondary data analysis research methodology used, involves the steps
S 1: Formulate research question(s)S 2: Identifying a secondary data setS 3: Evaluating a secondary data S 4: Analysing dataS1 is formulated in the research methodology section. S2 and S3 are achieved through the literature review section including the observations made. And finally, S4 is achieved through all the sections thereafter. The method is used to compare some of the valuable technologies and research, to understand important observations and the factors developed by various researchers. It is also helpful for some additional reasons such as the timeline of the data collected helps in preserving the relevance, the information is reliable from the best authors who have worked on it, it has good quality as well as quantity of information but definitely needs a fair level of understanding about the area of research to finally sort and collect data from relevant resources that can keep changing with new developments in any technological field. The expectation of the research is to analyse the varied and diverse usage of e-learning platform through extensive literature review. The literature review is performed with all the articles thoroughly examined. The scope of the research is restricted to its implementation in the field of education since e-learning technology is now utilized now extensively used by many other areas of research and development such as software companies trying to encourage their employees to upgrade their knowledge and skills from time to time through gamification-based e-learning platforms, mechanical companies educating assembly workers with the process of self-learning work applications through the use of e-learning platform designed specifically for the purpose. There is already a huge database to be examined but all the efforts are made to make sure the available literature specifically in the field of educational applications for data security is checked and evaluated. The research work covers records and standard literatures from the year 2010 to the current year of research. With innovation in the field of e-education it is rather important to protect data now more than ever.
