Cyber Security Assignment Help:

Task: SECTION A Compulsory Question New Zealand’s Cyber Security Strategy contains 4 goals: – Cyber Resilience – Cyber Capability – Addressing Cybercrime – International Cooperation Choose one of these goals and identify any legal/ regulatory and/or technical issues that may impede realisation of that goal. SECTION B On 1 October, the Prime Minster makes an announcement that New Zealand will host the world summit for the promotion of genetically modified foods. This is not without great controversy both within New Zealand and abroad. CONTINUED OVER PAGE An anti genetic modification group called" Green Nutrition" start a national campaign to stop the summit going ahead. The day before the Summit all Government computers accessible to the Internet are unable to properly function and display the Green nutrition Logo. The reason for the shut down is identified. A program tool known as Trinoo has surreptitiously been installed by means of a  Trojan program on hundreds of computers attached to the internet but none of them in New Zealand. These computers are known as Zombie computers and form a Zombie Army or Bot Net. At a predetermined time (the day before the summit) Trinoo sends request data packets to New Zealand Government servers connected to the Internet, flooding the servers with reply requests and preventing any other user accessing the system and rendering the system unusable. Hidden in the request packets is a small programme that displays the Green Nutrition logo. Green nutrition makes a media statement that it has made an alliance with" Mega Green" (an international environmental group that is known for extreme tactics to achieve its goals), and claim responsibility for the attack on the government computers. Green Nutrition states that the Mega Green Hackers live in Bangladesh (with whom New Zealand does not have an extradition treaty). Internal Affairs gets news through their monitoring of chat rooms that the Mega Green hackers are coming to New Zealand on 1 November to join in a protest against EPA granting the go ahead with a commercial release of a corn crop genetically modified with the genes of a cow to increase its calcium content. Your Advice is sought (a) As to whether or not an offence/s has been committed by the Mega Green Hackers and/or Green Nutrition? (b) Whether or not a New Zealand Court would have jurisdiction to entertain any prosecutorial action SECTION C What is ethical hacking? Should ethical hacking be suppressed or encouraged by the law? Explain and justify your answer by citing legal and technical arguments, grounds and sources. SECTION D Researchers in New Zealand cannot text or data mine works protected by copyright even when they have paid for access to the material. Other provisions of copyright and patent law allow cybersecurity researchers to conduct their research, for example, the "reverse engineering" and "decompilation" provisions. With reference to legal and technical arguments, discuss the importance of exceptions in intellectual property law allowing cyber security research.
