As a management trainee working for an organisation you have been asked by managment to  prepare a research report on different competitive organisational structures.  

You are required to investigate and explain three different types of organisations, one each from  the private, public and voluntary sectors. For each organisation briefly describe differences  according to their size, legal structure, scope, and key stakeholders.  

Select one of these organisations and explain the various functions within the business  highlighting the interrelationships between different functions. Support your answer with an  appropriate organisational chart showing all the functions and their relationships. You must also  explain how this might be different in the other two organisations.  

The report to management should include the following:  

1. Introduction to the tasks along with the brief overview of the current business  environment.  

2. Give details for three different types of organisations, one each from private, public and  voluntary sectors, which should include their background, size, scope mission, objectives,  purposes, legal structures and their key stakeholders. Analyse how these impact on their  products and service delivery.  

3. Giving appropriate examples, critically analyse how business objectives, mission and  vision determine the structure and impact on functional interrelations of an organisation.  Use an organisational chart to support your discussions.
