Highlights
Introduction
Education is important for every person for their development. which play a major role in everyone's life for growth and potential. we all know that there is three gender male, female and transgender (LGBTQ). but if we talk about transgender identity then in people's there is a lack of awareness about them. they didn't treat them well, discriminate against them, and bullied and harassed them (physically and emotionally).
In education, transgender people have minor pa art because people discriminate and society decided and gave specific roles of work, which they do. The right to choose one's gender identity is an essential part of lead with dignity which again falls under the article 21. Government also give many rights and scheme for transgender people's .there is a reservation for them in many govt. Workplace and education and provided inclusive education. In school's they have low enrolment and dropout rate in primary and secondary levels is very high. They hardly get educated as they are then nor accepted by society and do not receive higher good quality education.
In terms of infrastructure, focus is placed more on physical provisions in the institute. 26% said they had Third Gender or Other as an option on admission forms, while 11% said they had these options on other college documentation; sadly lacking also the awareness of such provisions in the respondents, where 42% and 53% said they were unaware respectively. This indicative of the lack of knowledge of basic legal provisions for Third Gender rights and a marked lack of interest in knowing about such provisions and their implementation in their own educational institutions.
Rationale
Transgender people face challenges in every place like home, school and public places. A survey by GLSEN has found that 75% of transgender youth feel unsafe in school.and many miss school.
Transgender community is an marginalized community. Their condition is comparable with scheduled caste and scheduled tribe as a group. People have many stereotypes about them and that's why they don't even interact with them which leads to even more exclusion. Education is a very powerful instrument in empowering them. Through education they can develop themselves and live a dignified life. Though education will not solve all the issues but it will empower them. It's very important to include them in the education system and for that we need to understand what difficulties they face in our education system and how we can make it more inclusive. This will also help in making our society just and inclusive.
We need to initiative on the part of educational institutions to create curriculum, engage students or train teachers in a manner so as to encourage inclusivity.
