Assignment Task

You are required to write a word report in which you must analyse and evaluate the supply chain and logistics operations of the same business that you have been assigned in the first assessment.

Description

In this individual assessment, students will be given an opportunity to explain the core principles and processes of supply chain management (SCM) by demonstrating a detailed awareness, knowledge and application of current theory in SCM. More importantly, this assessment will test students' ability to utilise a high level of written communication skills to present informed arguments and analyses of contemporary supply chain management practices.

Assessment Instructions

Based on the work you have produced in the first assessment, conduct further research to write a comprehensive report that describes, analyses and evaluates the supply chain and the associated logistics operations of that business. Please note that if you focus on any other business than the one your workshop facilitator provides, your submission will receive a grade of zero.

Your report should concentrate on providing valid information from your analysis. Consider the following dot points as your guide. The format of this assessment is a report form.

• A brief history and scope of the business's operations.
• Characteristics of the business's supply chain and logistics-related activities (Using a descriptive narrative and a supporting diagram to illustrate your findings).
• Analysis of any three (3) activities that the business is using to ensure the sustainability of its
  supply chain and different ways in which the business is influencing all elements of its supply chain to adopt sustainable practices.
• The business's approach towards collaboration with its suppliers and logistics partners to ensure end-customer satisfaction with its products or services.

You are expected to conduct your own research to help you prepare this report. Thus, you are required to use at least 6 sources of information and reference these in accordance with the Kaplan Harvard Referencing Guide. Your reference material may be in the form of texts, academic journals, business journals and reports, organisational websites and reports, newspapers, magazine articles and even transcripts of television and radio interviews and investigations. These sources must be presented in the form of in-text citations and a reference list at the end of your report. Online sources of information that have no established academic reliability, such as Wikipedia, SlideShare, Business balls etc., are to be avoided.
