Charlie Coder is an aspiring computer programmer. He has been studying a new micro skilling course Artificial Intelligence and the law at CDU University. Charlie is highly creative and has provided ideas for the application of a new eLearning platform to the university. Charlie was especially involved in designing the program and course materials including an automated system that can negotiate and execute contracts.
In 2023 Charlie wins a local ward for emerging talent. The NT Government makes an offer for Charlie to work for them and offers a generous employment contract with some bonuses.

The written employment contract contains the following clauses:
a) The contract is for three (3) years of employment as an Artificial Intelligence human design expert.
b) The employee (Charlie Coder) agrees that they will not work for any other employer during the duration of his employment and for one year after the conclusion of their employment.

Charlie is thrilled. On the phone the Director says to Charlie that they will offer more than twice a normal starting salary, so he signs the contract with a digital signature on the spot without reading it. On further review the contract stipulates the engagement is payable in Bitcoin and the jurisdiction listed in the contract is the Metaverse.

Unfortunately, the DocuSign contract gets caught in the spam folder of the NT Government's human resources department. Two weeks pass and Charlie gets anxious as he has not heard from them so calls up the Director. The Director says he has not received the contract and therefore he is revoking any offer.
