The authors of this article are Professor Raina MacIntyre, Dr Daniel Salmon and Dr Saad. These authors are reliable as they are professors and doctors from The School of Population Health. Imagery is used as one image underneath the heading has been shown of a nurse holding a needle about to inject a baby's arm whilst being held by her mother. This image was used to show what it looks like when a baby is being vaccinated. Although this article is reliable, it is not fluent or fascinating to read, in my opinion. This article is unbiased as it does not take any sides. It is just stating reliable evidence to the readers. This article could potentially help my rationale as it has many points that could be very useful. Although this article is unbiased, it can keep my reasoning as it has both opinions stated.

From reading this article, I have gathered that Australia's "no jab, no pay" left the health professionals with mixed emotions and thoughts. This article focuses on the Government's decision to deny family and childcare payments from parents who refuse to vaccinate their children. The author has shown that this has provoked diverse reactions from medical professionals. The imagery in this article was used at the beginning of the article as it showed a needle and syringe, clearly portraying what is used for vaccination. The author's intention of this article is to present an overview of how health professionals and people feel towards vaccinations. This article explains its findings through data, a clinical professor in paediatric infectious diseases at the University of Sydney, David Isaacs, said: "despite the number of vaccine objectors, immunization rates in Australia were still strong; about 97% of families eligible for family tax benefits choose to vaccinate". This article is fascinating and has many respected people's opinions on this controversial topic, it is expressive, but it is mainly going backward and forwards on the prime minister's statements. This article indicates that David Isaacs is capturing both sides, the side of parents forgetting to vaccinate their child and then parents choosing not to do it due to fear of disease. The author has supported claims as she has used professor Peter McIntyre, a paediatrician with the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance and A clinical professor in paediatric infectious diseases at the University of Sydney, David Isaacs, to support the statements made. This article will help my rationale as it shows a combination of opinions on this topic. Although overall, it could have been more unbiased for my liking, it has used some great statistics, which will be put into my rationale.

From reading this article, I have gathered that compulsory immunization policies were familiarised in the state of Victoria and Australia-wide in January 2016. This article focuses on the restricted access to childcare due to unvaccinated children and the extra payments required for parents due to the child not being vaccinated. The author intends to present its findings and gain a more profound knowledge of the policies made and how behaviour towards vaccination is changing in today's society. This article explains its conclusions of the motivation of policies to attend immunization services through surveys and data: "Parents/Guardians and clinicians completed surveys October 2016-May 2017 from the nurse-led immunization Drop in Centre (DIC) or physician-led Specialist Immunization Clinic (SIC). Vaccine-uptake was measured using the Australian Immunization Register (AIR) at baseline, 1 and 7 months' post-attendance". After conducting data from this survey, it has shown, 12% of parents were motivated by the policies to attend immunization services, and 19% were Vaccine Hesitant. This indicates that there are more vaccine-hesitant parents rather than parents inspired by the guidelines to do so. This source was helpful as it has shown statistics of how many parents are motivated or vaccine-hesitant. This data is reliable as a survey was conducted with 607 children, parents, guardians and clinicians. The information was not biased as the data was collected from such a wide range of adults and children. Although this article was very brief, straight to the point and did not use any imagery to keep the readers engaged, it has shown reliable statistics and had a prominent structure with the way it was written and presented. This article will not support my rationale as it indicates the restricted access to childcare due to unvaccinated children and the extra payments made by parents.

These studies have been presented through many modern virus outbreaks of infectious disease that vaccinations help prevent. Although new infectious diseases are appearing around the world, vaccinations will aid in preventing the spread. The author has used a credible source as the Department of Health - Public Health - Communicable Disease Prevention and Control has been used. This article supports my rationale as it states why people should get vaccinated and how important they are to enable safety.

Conclusion

Before beginning my research, my opinion was against it, that people should have a right to choose what they want to do with their bodies. I can see where both sides are coming from. Although there are many articles against this topic, they have not thought of an alternative solution to better people's circumstances when they get sick as vaccinations can prevent it. Research has found that certain vaccinations cause autism in children, but there is no scientific proof. The article from Science Direct, 2020, stated that "When you get vaccinated, you are playing an important role in keeping yourself and your community safe". When people in the community are vaccinated, the spread of a disease slows down or stops completely this is because the disease can't move easily from person to person. I am all for human rights, and choosing to do what you want to do to your own body but in this case, if it is going to protect every single person in the world, including themselves. I would not think twice about getting immunized if I were them. The Parliament of Australia, 2015, indicated that the Immunization measures and the actions that are going to be made to improve vaccination rates and decrease the spread of vaccines that can be preventable. I support The Parliament of Australia as they are just trying to protect us from disease and illness Immunization saves lives". The Better Health Channel stated that “protecting ourselves and the world we live in; vaccinations will and should be mandatory”. There is no doubt that vaccinations protect us and we should abide by the rules to not only protect ourselves but the community we live in.
