Within the overall context of a functional approach, logistics issues will be considered within this unit. This unit does not have a strong theoretical component. Instead, we concentrate upon the practical options available to shippers of goods and services. Students should become aware of the documentation required for importing or exporting products and acquaint themselves with the risks associated with transporting different types of cargo. By developing an awareness of the many and varied challenges faced by professional logisticians, students are equipped to make informed business transportation decisions. Where appropriate during the course, priority will be given to issues relevant to Australian practitioners in order to offer a practical and relevant focus. During online discussions, where possible, students are encouraged to offer their views and suggestions.- Stay in touch with your classmates regularly, via Blackboard > Discussion Board.
