Assessment Description

Sometimes in situations where change is needed in an organisation in resolving conflicts. In this situation, students will take on the role of the ‘Change Agent’/leader to assess the conflicts/issues and identify potential appropriate interventions to the Council in managing the current situation.

Students will act as a role as ‘Change Agent/change practitioner’, students need to diagnose/analyse/evaluate the situation and recommend required intervention strategies in satisfying major stakeholders based on the given issue/s on the background case study/news article.

Assessment Instructions

The assessment is to be presented in a Report Format and requires the following sections:

• Cover Page

• Table of Contents

• Introduction (150 words) – Outlines the aim and structure of the report.

• Provide an overview of the diagnostic concepts/readiness for change defined/explained (250 words) – this could include ONE (1) of the concepts such as the Seven-Lever Model, identifying and applying the Objective and Integration Framework, the Integrated Model (Macro/Micro) or Cultural Profiling (students will draw on content).

• Analysis of how the model applies to support choice of intervention strategies (600 words) Apply the diagnostic concept students have discussed to help explain how it supports the analysis of the conflict situation and how it can apply to the intervention strategies and challenges/limitations there on.

• Recommended intervention strategies - (350 words) based on the research explain TWO (2) key intervention startegies that might work and why (these could be based on strategy/structure/people/culture or organisational response to change).

• Conclusion and outcomes (150 words) – a summary of the key theory discussed and outcomes to be achieved.
