Overview

Drawing on the case given, you are required to write a discussion paper that outlines the key country factor considerations a business will face when it goes international. First, you will need to decide on a theoretical framework to organize your paper. As a suggestion, you could try the CAGE framework. Drawing on the Course 1 material, especially in relation to the topics of Culture and the Political, Economic and Legal Environment and your chosen theoretical framework, you will need to collect country-related information regarding the specified country in case to develop a country profile. To create this country profile, you will need to collect country information from reputable sources such as government fact sheets, international institutional websites (such as the World Bank, United Nations, World Economic Forum, and WTO) or business reports of reputable organisations such as Economic Intelligence Monitor, KPMG, Ernst & Young, Accenture and Deloitte.

1. Cover the political system that operates in the country, key information about important political parties/next election, political risk, corruption, and whether there is political support for your business
2. Cover the type of legal system used, key laws around setting business in the country, whether foreigners can own a business/land or not and protection of intellectual property.
3. Collect trend data (of the last five years and forecasted) on key economic data. For example, GDP, GDP growth, GDP per capita, inflation, unemployment, etc.
