Scenario:
Choose any local or international organization and imagine that the General ManagerOperations has now asked you, as a management trainee, to present the feedback on best approaches and practices with regards to operations management, to the Board of directors. This will take the form of a 20 minute presentation to the Director Board that will address how the leadership and management team can improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of operations within the company. To do this, you are also required to investigate external business factors that influence operational management and the decisions the management team makes.
The presentation slides should cover the following areas:
• An introduction to the key operations of the organisation. (P4)
• Details of each of the key operational functions, identifying the roles and responsibilities of managers in the key operational functions. (P4)

• Explanation of the key operational approaches to operations management and their significance.(P5)

• How operational efficiencies can be improved to successfully meet business objectives using appropriate management and leadership approaches. (M3)

• An assessment of the factors within the business environment that impact upon operational management. (P6)
(You will highlight the internal environment factors such as strengths & weaknesses, culture, ethics, value & sustainability)
• An evaluation of the impact of external business environment factors that affect decisionmaking by leaders and managers. (M4)
(You will focus on PESTEL factors’ impact on operations, CSR, sustainable entrepreneurship & intrapreneurship)
• Conclusions and supported recommendations for future improvements to be taken by the organisation. (D2)
