• The hospital you work at is transitioning from paper-based patient records to an electronic medical record system (iEMR). As the Team Leader you are also required to be a Change Champion to support your team during the transition. Your ward is one of the first to the new system. During your shift you overhear a colleague (RN1) say “I hate this new system, it doesn’t make sense, I just want the old one back”. A second RN (RN2), who also hears this comment, says to RN1 “you’re just too old for this job now, why don’t you retire?”. You can see that RN1 is upset by this comment

• As RN1 is a more experienced and senior colleague, you are feeling extremely daunted by the situation and are doubting your ability to deal with it effectively.
