Inishowen Solar Submarines provide a wide range of popular submarine vehicles, all of which are solar powered. They are currently expanding and opening offices in a range of countries where they expect competition to be light and where they can capture the market without undue competition. Each local site will be configured in a similar manner.
You have just been hired as a system engineer and a table of data has been circulated letting you know where you are to be relocated (see Network Plan 2021). You are the only technician on site, so you need to look after everything! But you have many colleagues around the country as support if you need it; it is expected that there will be much dialogue on the discussion fora.

Scenario
In the last assignment, we installed two host servers and used virtualization to build a simple, cheap local solution. We also built the local physical network, and this should now all be transparent to you. With the two hosts in place, we built the core infrastructure. We own the domain solarsubmarines.com, each site prepended its location name to the domain name for its local domain. If there was a site in Buncrana, it was buncrana.solarsubmarines.com etc. Each site had local domain controllers, two for reliability. Each site also had file servers and later, two database servers were added. We created a network diagram with a VLAN plan and IPv4 address assignments. We specified the local services.

We finally have national connectivity! The top subnet in each LAN has been assigned for links. Each site will have a firewall with VPN connections using this link LAN to;
1. Head office
2. Data Centre 1
3. Data Centre 2

This network is transparent to us.

We need to;
1. Reengineer our site to be part of the domain tree for ads.
2. Plan the domain tree and explain how it will work, describing replication etc.
3. Plan and demonstrate our new strategy for security groups, such that staff from head office can visit and gain access to resources on our local site.
4. Implement a business continuity plan; plan for the data in all servers to be replicated off site to the data centres
