Brief

This assessment focusses on the role of leadership in facilitating the transformation of organisations in Aotearoa New Zealand and globally.  Currently, many organisations are in a state of transformation.  Since 2020, the digitisation of a vast amount of operations, products and services has occurred across NZ and the world in a very short space of time, accelerated by the COVID-19 crisis.  Organisations are also undergoing transformation in terms of gender equity, cultural diversity and employee engagement. In Aotearoa New Zealand, many organisations recognise their responsibilities under the Treaty of Waitangi and this also requires active responses from leaders to implement appropriate cultural and behavioural changes.  This has created multiple challenges for organisational leaders here and across the world.

Identify and critically evaluate one contemporary leadership challenge for one real organisation, from a list of approved organisations below:

You may also choose another organisation with your lecturer’s permission.

Your report must:

1. Identify one current leadership challenge facing the chosen organisation and evaluate the impacts of the challenge on the organisation and its stakeholders

2. Critically evaluate relevant leadership paradigms, styles, concepts and practices that would enable the successful transformation of the organisation to meet the identified challenge.
