The goal of this assignment is to explore a career in marketing that you are interested in pursuing. One that you could see yourself in after graduating from GBC. You will write a report on what a career in this category of marketing might look like. Including information on the tasks performed, remuneration, entry-level employment opportunities, skills needed, career progression and what you could specifically be doing while at GBC to build your resume to prepare you for this type of role.
Written Format:
- Follow the report outline.
- Your report should be concise. Use bullet points, subheadings and appendices where appropriate.
- Report should be 7-10 pages in length 1.5 spacing NOT including Title page, Table of Contents or Appendices
- Ensure you properly cite all sources using MLA or APA style and include all web URLs
- All reports must be submitted via the Assessment tab in Black Board

Process:
1. Select a Marketing Career from one of the following categories:
Digital Marketing, Event Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising/Account Management, Product Marketing, Marketing Research, Media, Other (Needs to be Approved with Professor) *within the category selected feel free to get even more specific with the role if you wish

2. Find several current job opportunities in the field (3 minimum) – they should be a range of levels from entry level and beyond. You can find these for example on Workopolis, Career Cruising, JobFutures, Talent Egg, Indeed, LinkedIn or on company websites. Make sure you download and save them when you find them as they may expire during the course of the assignment and they need to be included in your appendix

3. Conduct an informational Interview or attend an event targeting people in that field for networking purposes
4. Write your report following all the sections listed in the chart below.
