IT Assignment :

Scenario:  In this assignment, you are to build a  prototype for a marks management system according to the design document provided here. The system is to be implemented as a Java desktop application, with user interaction mediated by a simple Swing GUI. Products are to be stored in a Java DB database; Interaction between the database and the application is to be via JDBC. The system is to be developed using the NetBeans IDE. Refer to the Course Profile for assessment criteria. Note that these criteria apply to submissions that compile, run and conform to the specification provided in the design document.. Marks will be deducted for late submissions as per the CQU policy. You are required to submit your completed NetBeans project as a zip file. You are not required to include the database that you use - markers will use their own copy of the dtabase specified in the design document for marking purposes. Questions:

1. We have assumed that the tester will change DB_URl, DB_USERNAME, DB_PWD strings in Results.java file according to their database details. The current string values are for the database I created and tested. The tester will need to have database created, and the Derby server running to correctly run the application.

2. On running the Jar file, the application will start. If the database connection fails on clicking any of the buttons All Students, Specified Student, All Students In Range or Update Exam And Total, the application will exit.

3. If database connection is successful, clicking the buttons will give expected output, unless it means that there is some error/missing input required for that query. For eg, before clicking 'Specified Student' , the Student ID field should be filled, else error output will be displayed.
