Introduction
1.1The Master’s Project is a significant part of the business postgraduate programme. It is registered as a 6-credit course for final-year students
1.2 The course enables students to:
i.identify research problems and design a research project individually;
ii.understand the techniques of collecting, organizing, and analyzing data and information;
iii.acquire knowledge and apply statistical techniques for interpreting research results and draw conclusions on findings;
iv.conduct an independent project in business areas by themselves; and
v. communicate the research findings in a report concisely and effectively.
1.3 Students are required to work on a research project on an approved topic. Each individual project must include:

• a research question in the business context,
• a review of current literature and secondary data,
• appropriate research planning and implementation of data collection,
• analysis of data, reporting of results, and
• discussion of the findings and recommendations.

1.4 Each student will complete the project under the guidance of a faculty adviser in a one-on-one mentoring relationship. Students are required to meet with theirassigned supervisors regularly to review the progress of their research.

General Requirements of Research Project - The total length of the text of the report should be between 10,000 and 20,000 words in English, which excludes references, appendices, and author’s notes. Any deviation from the required length must be approved in advance by the Chief Supervisors. - The project should be written in English. The required font is Times New Roman and the font size is 12. It must be typed on white A-4 paper with double line spacing and template margins. There are some exceptions to use double line spacing, e.g. for title page, tables, figures and footnotes. (More details are provided for line spacing: https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammarguidelines/paper-format/line-spacing.) - Each student is required to upload the files of own report and related file in Moodle (for VeriGuide checking) and send the files through email to: (1) chief supervisor; (2) co-supervisor; and (3) bamcp@hksyu.edu, with the thesis in Word, a SPSS or Excel data file, and others (e.g. PLS model file or data analysis file) by 5 July, 2022 (Tuesday, 5 p.m.). - Upon receipt of the examiners’ report and in case revision is required, students are required to submit the file of the revised final report (in Word) in Moodle again for VeriGuide checking according to the date specified in the examiners’ report. - The project should be written in APA format (Appendix 6): Title page – page 1 Declaration – page 2 Abstract – page 3 Acknowledgement – page 4 Table of Contents List of Tables List of Figures Chapter 1: Introduction (with title centered at the top of a new page, bold) Chapter 2: Literature review Chapter 3: Conceptual Framework Chapter 4: Research method Chapter 5: Results Chapter 6: Discussion and conclusions References Appendices - Use of Appendix: An appendix or appendices may be the appropriate place for tables, charts, illustrations, questionnaire data, statistics, and the like if you feel they are too big or disruptive to include in the text.
