A machine produces the sound pressure level spectrum in octave bands at a distance of  3 m, as given in the table below. Determine the overall sound pressure levels (for unweighted and A-weighted sound pressure levels) at 3 m from the machine.

Two identical mechanics are operating in a noisy workshop. The measured A-weighted sound pressure level is 91.1 dB(A). When one machine is switched off, the sound pressure level drops to 89.5 dB(A). What would the sound pressure level be when both of these machines are switched off? Show all calculation steps clearly.

Part C 
Two sound sources are radiating sound waves at different discrete frequencies. If their individual sound pressure levels, recorded at a position, are 75 dB and 80 dB, respectively. 
i. Find the total sound pressure level due to the sources together.
ii. What is the total sound pressure level if they are radiating at the same discrete frequency? Assume the sources are in phase. Show all calculation steps clearly.

Part D  
Calculate the Aeq of a noise which is 80 dB(A) for 15 minutes, 70 dB(A) for 2 hours,  90 dB(A) for 2 hours, 99 dB(A) for 5 minutes, and 75 dB(A) for 4 hours.

Three omnidirectional, uncorrelated acoustic point (spherical) sources A, B and C are to be placed at three corners of a square with 10 m sides. Independent calibration tests on these sources showed that they produced the following amounts of acoustic power: Source A is  10 watts, Source B is 20 watts, and, Source C is 15 watts. Calculate the sound pressure level at the remaining corner of the 10-meter square, that is, at position D. Assuming that D  is in the far-field of A, B, and C. Note that for air: air = 1.2 kg/m3 and air = 343 m/s Show all the calculation step.
