Scenario : You are the HR Manager in a large organisation –Santo Corporation. It has been a desperate time for the organisation with huge issues related to turnover, dissatisfaction, and performance. As a result, a huge amount of funding was allocated towards addressing the problem. To try to address the problem, you advised Santo Corporation that a developmental training program was needed aimed at increasing employee satisfaction, commitment, intentions to stay in the organisation, and ultimately performance. However, you were unsure of the best way to deliver the training so the CEO asked you to try 4 different training approaches to see what worked best for their employees before rolling it out to whole organisation (approximately 10,000 employees). Overall, you developed the following training approaches in order to address the training need. 1. On-the-job training with the team leader. 2. Classroom training. 3. Online training. 4. One-to-one mentoring. You have led the team implementing the training programs and have conducted the following activities. 1. 10 people from each training group were interviewed about their satisfaction with the training they received and also whether it actually made a difference to their work and/or home life. Semi-structured interviews were used and each lasted about 30 minutes. Each interview was recorded and transcribed later. Interviews were conducted by an external consulting company and no names of interviewees were known. For each type of training, the company selected 10 employees from a list of 50. The selection of interviewees was based on the proportion of people in job types. In each department, about 20% were higher level managers, 30% were middle level supervisors and the rest were lower level employees. Within each category, employees were then selected randomly from the list. 2. All employees from all training programs tested were asked to complete an online survey about their perceptions of the training and their levels of job-related attitudes (such as satisfaction, intentions to leave, commitment, and performance) amongst other issues of interest to the organisation. Question - Your task in this assignment is to produce a single, multi-part report for the Senior Management Team that outlines your qualitative and quantitative findings, that summarises these findings, and then make recommendations based on these findings. At a minimum, your report will include the structural elements outlined in the example report placed on Blackboard. The content will also be heavily informed by lectures and lecture content. In your report you will need to cover off the topics of perceptions of the training and effectiveness of the training for each training type.
