Assignment Task

This assignment will allow you to demonstrate your analytic and critical abilities, both of which are essential components of leadership. A case study is not mealy descriptive, it is an in-depth self contained critical analysis of an actual problem involving actual clients or subjects.

Here are some of the aspects you might consider inserting into your analysis:

1. What are the principal causative factors of the problems?

2. Were they reasonably foreseeable?

3. Who or which groups are responsible, what was their role?

4. Were there any marginalized or discounted groups or perspectives?

5. How do the facts affect the client, subjects or victims of your case study?

6. Are there leadership or ethical gaps, what leadership styles prevailed throughout?

7. What is the best possible outcome, what are your recommendations?

8. Are there any inter-disciplinary (eg. legal, regulatory, HR, media) considerations?

Important

You must present a smooth and coherent analysis. Do not simply answer the guiding questions, instead you may consider the quidding questions as a framework for identifying the most relevant or pressing aspects your case study, and, for identifying any additional, ethical or legal matters for example, that may also present themselves. Ensure that your analysis is thoroughly coherent throughout.

Additional Requirements:

In general terms, when I read and assess your work, I also consider the following;

• How well you integrated the guiding questions; how well you supported your assertions with relevant, supporting or any additional information, including any personal insight you may wish to share; how well did you integrate appropriate and relevant examples; how well did you employ your leadership ‘terms of art’ and concepts.

Organization and critical thinking: how well did you contextualize your analysis, to what extent are your assertions informed, how well did you organize your thoughts.
