Shiva and Evan meet at TAFE WA while completing their Certificate IV in Patisserie and Baking. After completing their studies Shiva and Evan decide to start a business together selling freshly made Belgian waffles in Perth. Evan is originally from Belgium and has grown up with his grandmother making him sweet dessert waffles and desires to replicate these homestyle waffles to sell in Perth.
Shiva and Evan have limited funds, so they decide to start small by purchasing a food truck. The food truck has a fully equipped kitchen that can handle both hot and cold foods and beverages. Shiva resigns from her current job as a barista so she can dedicate more time to the waffle business.
Currently, Shiva and Evan are in the process of creating their waffle menu. Their creations mainly consist of Evan’s grandmother’s sweet waffle recipes (such as: waffles with strawberries and Belgian chocolate sauce, ultimate chocolate waffle, waffles with banana and ice cream etc) but they would like further input or recommendations you can make to their menu. Both are committed to using locally sourced produce and regularly visit their local farmers’ market to purchase in season fruit for their waffle creations. Shiva also tells you that a local dairy farmer and egg farmer will be supplying milk and free range eggs to their business.
As first time business owners, Shiva and Evan come to you for marketing advice. They are unsure of:
