This assessment task requires students to undertake the fundamental steps of a single party negotiation process. Students will be required to plan for their negotiation, undertake the negotiation process itself and communicate how they selected their negotiation strategy. Students will also be required to evaluate their performance in the negotiation.

Students are to develop a negotiation plan for the negotiation exercise to be carried out in Week 4 tutorials (negotiation scripts for this exercise will be distributed in week 3 tutorials).

In planning for the negotiation:

1. Conduct a comparative analysis of distributive and integrative approaches to negotiation, focusing on the advantages and disadvantages of each (1,000 words).
2. Drawing on your answer to Q1, provide a detailed analysis of your approach to the negotiation activity (500 words).

Each of your answers should be supported by relevant academic sources. A MINIMUM of six academic sources is required in total and should be in APA 7th Edition format.

It is expected that you will have read Chapters 1, 2, 3 and 4 of your text in advance of completing this assessment.
