Purpose: To allow students to research organisational behaviour theory and examine and critically analyse one aspect of organisational behaviour in depth. Students will also develop an understanding of some of the activities that make up scholarly research and to see the may in which knowledge is built gradually. This assessment relates to learning outcomes a, b, c, d and e.
Topic: Organisational citizenship, commitment and engagement
Task Details: Imagine that you are a manager in a local restaurant. There are many restaurants in town, making it a competitive business. You recognise that providing high quality, friendly service and having actively engaged employees is going to make the difference between your restaurant's success and failure. Your management team decides to first address organisational citizenship behavior, commitment and employee engagement as drivers of high-quality customer service. First, think independently about what your restaurant can do to enhance the engagement and citizenship behaviors as well as commitment of your employees. Supporting your argument with appropriate organisational behaviour theories and models, identify what are you going to do to enhance and encourage organizational citizenship behavior, commitment and employee engagement in your restaurant?

• Presentation, Citation and Referencing Format Details about each criterion can be checked by assessing the subject outline. Research is considered appropriate when students make their arguments by using peer-reviewed journal articles. A minimum of eight (8) peer reviewed relevant, academic journal articles is required to attain a pass mark. Kindly note that using Wikipedia and other online encyclopedia is not allowed and may result in being given a fail grade for the essay.
Important Notes:
• The assessment must be Harvard (Anglia) referenced, typed Arial 12 font, 1.5 spaced and delivered by using an essay structure.
• Referencing is only considered adequate when the sources that are used in the work are acknowledged both in-text and in the references list at the end of the essay.
• The assessment's length is 1,500 words (+/-) 10%. The word count excludes the cover sheet, table of contents page and references.
• The assessment is worth 20% of your overall subject mark.
• A word document of your assessment must be submitted to Moodle by Friday, week 6 at 11:30 PM. Files that are not submitted in word will not be accepted
